Here in northern Virginia, Post Tropical Low Ophelia passed through September 24-25, bringing much needed rain and halfhearted wind gusts that did no damage. The worst disruptions were in low-lying areas near water, especially in North Carolina. And, today, remnants of Ophelia will bring heavy rain to the northeast USA. Sometimes tropical storms, or their leftovers, come back for a second visit.
Space weather has also been interesting, bringing nice auroras but terrible shortwave propagation during the middle of the past week. So far, Shortwave Radiogram broadcast times during the weekends have largely been spared.
A video of last weekend’s Shortwave Radiogram (program 323) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany.
Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 324, 28 September-2 October 2023, in MFSK modes as noted:
1:40 MFSK32: Program preview
2:48 MFSK32: Likely asteroid debris found on NASA probe*
7:39 MFSK64: Copper theft hits German infrastructure*
13:41 MFSK64: This week’s images*
28:28 MFSK32: Closing announcements
