If you have lately attempted to access Mark Hirst’s comprehensive archive of Shortwave Radiogram audio, and have been frustrated by a bad link, that link is now fixed. Mark’s archive is based on his reception in the UK. We thank Mark for this very useful service.
Auroras and solar activity may be an issue during this weekend. If an HF blackout prevents your reception of Shortwave Radiogram, go outside, and you might see the northern lights.
The autumn foliage in the northern hemisphere is mostly gone and no longer providing subjects for our images of the week. Holiday displays will often be seen in December. Then, beginning in January, it’s just winter. Look for more indoor photos, and summer scenes from the southern hemisphere.
A video of last weekend’s Shortwave Radiogram (program 331) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC broadcast). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany.
Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 332, 1-4 December 2023, in MFSK modes as noted:
1:42 MFSK32: Program preview
2:50 MFSK32: Container-based battery hub recharged by kite*
8:12 MFSK64: Solar activity likely to peak next year
11:09 MFSK64: This week’s images*
27:23 MFSK32: Closing announcements
