I hope the December holiday season is unfolding well where you are. There has been no snow here yet. We might again get through the entire winter without any appreciable accumulation of snow. But while driving earlier this week, my car was briefly pelted by graupel, which is sort of like small hail. This might be the closest thing to winter precipitation that we’ll see.
Last weekend’s geomagnetic storms disrupted some shortwave broadcasts, but our Shortwave Radiogram transmissions were mostly spared. In fact, reception was better than usual on some of our frequencies.
This weekend’s show will include eleven images, one MFSK32 and ten MFSK64. Several of them will be seasonal.
A video of last weekend’s Shortwave Radiogram (program 332) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC broadcast). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany.
Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 333, 8-12 December 2023, in MFSK modes as noted:
1:41 MFSK32: Program preview
2:49 MFSK32: British research ship encounters largest iceberg*
8:41 MFSK64: Ireland’s first satellite is in orbit*
13:11 MFSK64: This week’s images*
28:36 MFSK32: Closing announcements
