Thank you for enduring the latest of our “double play” programs. There will be more this year, as there are family activities on the agenda.
Most of North America shifted to “Daylight Savings Time” on March 10. This affects the Shortwave Radiogram schedule, especially on WINB’s 9265 kHz and WRMI’s 9955 kHz, which stay on Eastern Time. This means the UTC times are one hour earlier. The other frequencies stay with UTC, so local times in most of North America will be one hour later. See the schedule below.
Europe will shift to Summer Time on March 31, providing another opportunity for confusion.
A video of Shortwave Radiogram on March 6 (program 344) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Wednesday 1330 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany.
Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 345, 14-20 March 2024, in MFSK modes as noted:
1:45 MFSK32: Program preview
2:55 MFSK32: The future less skiable thanks to climate change
7:27 MFSK64: In NYC, window heat pumps promise emissions cuts*
12:44 MFSK64: This week’s images*
28:23 MFSK32: Closing announcements
