Shortwave Radiogram, del 6 al 12 de Noviembre 2026: programa 474

Shortwave Radiogram
Shortwave Radiogram

Hello friends,

The autumn time change in North America is now complete. WINB’s schedule stays with Eastern Time, so its UTC times for Shortwave Radiogram are now one hour later. The local times are the same for most North America listeners, and same for most European listeners before the European time change happened.

The WRMI frequencies used for Shortwave Radio stay with UTC, so local times will be an hour earlier by local time. The exception in 9955 kHz, which stays with Eastern Time.

The transmission schedule below is updated to reflect these changes. Be sure your conversions from UTC to your local time are correct.

This time of year also gives us interesting shortwave (HF) propagation. The two MFSK64 images below were received during the Wednesday 1330-1400 UTC broadcast, 15770 kHz from WRMI Florida, via an SDR in Australia. The ghosting is caused by the images received by both and short long paths — or, given that the receiver was in Australia, the long and longer paths. These are the only two images that decoded: the multipath garbled the text in most of the image triggers.

Autumn provides time changes and interesting propagation, and also an abundance of foliage for our images of the week. There will be twelve MFSK64 images in this week’s show.

A video of last week’s Shortwave Radiogram (program 473) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Wednesday 1330 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany. Also: An IQ audio file and other resources from H0B0_Radio in Washington state. And John Rabold’s image archive.

Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 474,  6-12 November 2026, in MFSK modes as noted:

1:44  MFSK32: Program preview
2:54  MFSK32: Why permanent daylight time isn’t healthy
 5:04  MFSK64: Details about China’s uncrewed spaceplane
 9:42  MFSK64: This week’s images
28:33  MFSK32: Closing announcements
